Tom Moir has more than 20 years of experience in detection dog handling, training and capability development across the military, commercial and companion dog sectors.

Tom joined the Royal Army Veterinary Corps in 2003, serving as a detection dog handler and trainer on operational deployments, including two tours of Afghanistan. He left the Army in 2011 as a Troop Sergeant and has since worked with dogs, handlers and organisations throughout the UK and internationally.

Through ScentMasters UK, Tom now brings that operational experience into practical coaching for companion, competition and professional detection dog teams. His approach is analytical, adaptable and focused on what the individual dog is actually learning—not simply following a fixed training formula.

Every session is built around the dog, the handler and the problem in front of them.
